My roommate and I had talked about starting up a morning radio talk show that would announce all of our missteps and "adventures" of the previous nights and weekends. We were walking to work one day and making ourselves laugh outloud and thought, hell, this would be a great idea. Turns out, a blog is a hell of a lot easier to put together. Unfortunately, we can't have the banter that comes with a morning cup of coffee (or 5 cups) on this page but it's a start. Quick story about last night...
I was closing down the restaurant I work at and planned on getting out of there around midnight or so depending on how busy we got (or incompetent/lazy the servers were). So, we're about ready to leave when my coworker realizes we're in a bit of fucking pickle. Everyone had been talking up a storm that was supposed to hit around midnight that would bring flash floods/tornadoes, whatever, and hit it did. At Midnight. Well the problem was we'd washed some hood vent filter thingys out in the alley earlier in the afternoon (8 of them) and had forgotten to bring them back inside. Torrential downpour hits, we all realize one of us is going to have to run outside to pull them back in. 5 minutes pass, we're all just laughing, saying "Oh Shit" or "Fuck no, I aint going out there" until I decide i'll go, i've got a bright red raincoat (a story for another time). As i'm about to dash out into the thick of it we all see two of the filters rushing down the alley in a river of rainwater at about 8 mph. "Oh shit, fuck that", I say. I get the other 6 and get back indoors, feet soaked, inevitably to wind up smelling like old wet dog, and my pants are sopping. Surprisingly a server, whom we call Tortuga (turtle) retrieves the other two that had gone down the river in the alley. He steps back in, water dripping from his nose, his glasses, his bald head, and says something like, "We're in for a wet T-Shirt contest tonight!"
Fun tidbits of work stories along with me and my friends homelife and nightlife will be popping up here every now and again along with photos and whatever else. Well, Bye
